Working with Paula helped me create clarity and focus in my life…” – Josephine Morris, Business Owner

Why internalGPS®?

I love tools. Especially logical-follow-this-clear-process tools. I took college-level calculus in high school, I state this not to brag about what a nerd/geek I was (am), but to explain how my brain is wired for love-of-logic in solving problems. I also love to read, one of my favorite places in the whole world is the library. I read a lot and unfortunately I do not remember which self-improvement author I read, many years ago, who referred to the metaphor of a smart-bomb. He (I remember the author was a guy, at least) explained that in order for it to work, a smart-bomb must first have the current location, then a programmed destination. This planted a seed in my logical brain. I liked it a lot but did not like the negative connotation of a bomb, who wants to blow people up? It’s not good for business. I percolated on it for a while and thought about the tools in my life that I cannot live without.

My car/phone GPS (Global Positioning System) is not only helpful, it is mandatory equipment for me. Along with my advanced math and reading brain (Geek!), when I am looking for a new address/location, I can get turned around in a “NY minute” and then sometimes become utterly lost. Do you ever get turned around in a parking lot? I do. My Mother says that I inherited this from my Father. Regardless of who is to blame, this obstacle was blown away by the wonderful invention of the GPS. It’s impossible to put into words how much it has improved my life. That is what I’d love for you, that you work with me to utilize your internalGPS® and it works so well that words cannot express the level of improvement it has given you in your work/life.

“Paula was incredibly effective at helping me sort through my options and tackle the things that were holding me back from success both personally and professionally…”– Julie Binter, Organizational Development Consultant, Coach

The GPS metaphor works well because it is essential to first know where you are. Wherever you are is the perfect place to start. We’ll uncover your values, strengths, talents, emotions, thinking-patterns, beliefs that all describe your current location. Then we will identify where you want to go. Your destination/goal/vision/dream may be crystal clear or we may need to work on clarifying what it looks/feels like.

It’s internalGPS® because it’s an inside job. As much as I sometimes would like to believe and many of my clients would like to believe, the answer is not “out there” or “their fault if they’d just be different.” It’s “in-between-your-ears-and-feel-into-your-gut” work. If you program your internalGPS® and then just  relax and have a glass of wine and binge-watch Netflix (although there is nothing wrong with doing this periodically to celebrate, I do), it won’t work. You have to do the work.

You have to learn it, practice, practice, fail, get back up, re-learn or incorporate new learning, practice, fail, get back up, repeat. Again and again. It’s work. It’s worth it. It’s how to uncover your best, your truth, the “Real-You/Inspirational-Leader/Amazing Kick-Ass-Human-Being” who is you. The internalGPS® process will blow through the obstacles that are covering you up/getting in your way.

The Neurological/Psychology/Social Scientists/Researchers continue to find ways we can better understand how our brain and gut impact who we are and what we do. Did you know the gut is now known as the “second brain?” There are over 100-million neurons in the gut area, more than in the spinal chord. I just love this stuff!

All the tools I use are backed up by research; my logical brain/gut require it (see more about me here).  I’ll share all these fabulous tools that I have applied myself and used to help many clients, and we’ll figure out which work best for you so that you go where you want to go and how you want to show up. We’ll uncover the courageous and inspirational leader that you are

I can honestly say that the changes we have talked about and I am working to implement have become a seamless part of my life. They feel incredibly natural – and I think that is the beauty of Paula and her methods: she finds the best in you and brings it out in a natural and effortless way. I would highly recommend Paula for any professional looking to make a change or work on their professional skills or presence. She is excellent! – Stephanie McVey, AICP
